What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding And Brown Discharge After Unsafe Sex?
My implant expired on the 15th march 2016 and ive not had it taken out of my arm yet but me and my partner had unprotected sex a week ago but was on my period but i was heavy then the next day it got lighter and the nexted day after that it got even more lighter then i stop bleeding then starting loosing white creamy discharge but when i wiped myself i saw brown discharge on the tissue.. can i get pregnant when ive had unprotected sex on my period but also with my implant expired but still in my arm?
The heavy menses with brown discharge after unsafe sex indicates vaginal infection rather than pregnancy.
My guidelines at present: - Vaginal hygiene care - Avoid further sex (protected or unprotected ) till recovery - Clean, cotton inner wears - Antibiotics as metronidazole - Anti fungal medications as fluconazole or itraconazole - Anti inflammatory if pain or discomfort pelvic region - Hydration maintenance with plenty of liquids to prevent secondary bacterial urinary infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
