HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The period can be heavy in some girls in adolescence.

It can be due to different possible causes such as: (1) anovulatory cycles- this means that no egg is released with the periods initially. AS the periods continue , this would change.
(2) hypothyroidism- low levels of thyroid hormone
(3)bleeding disorders

Though it is possible that her bleeding may simply be due to the anovulation mentioned, which would correct itself, it may also be due to one of the other causes .

She may need to be assessed if it continues. This would involve physical examination and blood tests.

I hope this helps
