What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Post Removal Of Paragard IUD?
I got my iud paragard removed on March 2nd of 2016. Had unprotected sex March 3rd & 4th and started my menstrual March 9 a week early than regular. Very heavy bleeding for 3 days and the 4th day was very faint bleeding it ended. I felt like I was experiencing pregnancy symptoms feeling nauseous all day long everyday. Food cravings and Lower back pains and dizziness. I just need to know the possibilities. I took a pregnancy test on the 4th day that my period was pretty much over just spotting and it was negative. Please help
Hello dear Understand your concern. Paragard is a copper containing IUD. Reversible contraception, used for 10 years. It make cervical mucus and make conception unfavorable.
Following are the side effect: 1. Irregular menstruation: heavy bleeding may be occur due to hormonal imbalaance. 2. Cramp pain 3. Dizziness and headache 4. Infection: most common gonorrhoea and chlymadia which lead to Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
Menstruation come to normal after 4-6 months. If problems continue, check your hormone profile and consult doctor.
