What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding With Clots?

I am a 25 year old female. I have had heavy menstrual bleeding with a lot of blood clots for over a year. About 3 days ago I became very sick with fevers and diherria. I was nauseous. I started to feel better today but now I am light head, dizzy and still have large blood clots and diherria. Is this consern enough to go to the hospital?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, this is a reason to be seen at the hospital.

The loss of blood combined with the fluid loss from the diarrhea would definitely cause the dizziness that you are experiencing.
You may need fluid replacement and medications may also be prescribed to help decrease the bleeding.

Imaging of the pelvis by ultrasound would help determine the cause of the heavy bleeding. In many cases, may be due to fibroids.

I hope this helps
