Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Quick question and probably stupid but have to ask. Can you miscarry because of taking your last week of birth control pills. I have been last for my period before so this month is nothing new but last month it seemed like right after I finished my final week of the pills ( the ones that usually start my period) was when I finally started and it was one of my heaviest periods I ve had. So could taking the last week have caused a miscarriage. Just to say this, it would not be something I would want to happen or to cause to happen knowingly. I love children and hope to have some, just not right now. Thanks for you help!
Hello there. I have read through your question and would like you to tell you that it is unlikely that you conceived if you are on birth control pills. So there is no question of miscarriage. Heavy bleeding may be due to hormonal imbalance which is a common cause or due to low Haemoglobin. You should get your Hemoglobin test done and take iron supplements if required. I hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions please feel free to write.
