What Causes Heavy Menstrual Cycle After IUI Failure?
Hi! I had a failed iui last year. I ve been actively trying to get pregnant since the last 4 year. My first child is already 10 years old. After my failed iui, i noticed that my menses is very heavy, a bit clotting and painful. It especially painful on the day before it came and the first day. I could felt my foot and thigh aching badly. But once the period came 3rd day onwards i felt better. Despite the pain, i still have my menses regularly on 26-30. ive made a visit to my gynae 7month ago petain to this and she prescribe me duphaston for 3 weeks. i totally forgotten when i should take this pill. My question is when should i start taking this pill? during menses or after? And by taking this pill will it help with my menses and ultimately help me conceive as well?

Hi,
In order to regularise your cycles and reduce the heavy flow, Duphaston should be taken 1- 2 tablets a day from the 5th to the 25th day of your cycle. Your cycles will become regular in the subsequent days. For treatment of fertility related issues, 1 tablet of Duphaston a day from the 14th to the 25th day of the cycle can be taken and may be required for 4 to 5 cycles.
