What Causes Heavy Periods While Having Cyst In Right Ovary?
hi I m 25 years old and generally fit and well. I m not on any medication and have only ever been to the doctor twice through illness. The first time I went to the doctor was around 18 months ago because my periods which I have suffered with all my life began to become so heavy and debilitating they were affecting my work and social life. I would become faint and have to change every hour. The pain was horrendous and I would be very pale and sweaty. I began throwing up at night and getting feverish. I had enough so I went to the doctor. They did a blood tests for hormones which came back ok and I had a scan which showed a small cyst on my right ovary and a slightly thicker lining of the uterus than would be expected which I was reassured was nothing to worry about so I felt I was wasting their time and just needed to deal with the fact I had abnormally heavy periods.18 months on and I haven t had a period for four months after they suddenly stopped. My diet hasn t changed and neither has my weight but I don t feel well. I get alot of stomach pain and pelvic pressure as well as persistent bloating. I feel tired constantly, my hair is falling out. I m not pregnant or more stressed I just don t know what s going on. I went to the doctor again last week and she felt my stomach and said it seemed fine and to go back if I haven t had a period in another two months because apparently until then they aren t too worried as there could be a vast variety of reasons why women don t have them. I know something isn t right but I don t know what I m supposed to do. Any ideas about what this might be or have similar experiences with this?
Hello You were a patient of ovarian cyst . I would like to advise you please get in ultrasound of both ovaries to rule out any cyst . Amenoorrhea, dysfunctional uterine bleeding , irregualr menstruation are most common characteristic features of pcod in young female . You are also having pain , in the stomach , may be due to hyper acidity ,but important thing is amenorrhea , so consult a gynecologist and get his opinion about pcod . Good luck.
