General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is normal to have heavy periods after Mirena insertion. This is probably due to vascular changes in the endometrial lining. It will probably change in time, maybe after two or three months as the body adapts with Mirena.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
