What Causes Heavy Periods With Clots After Having Mirena Insertion?
Hi had myrena fitted under 2 weeks ago under general using hysteroscopy procedure. Biopsy done also. Slight bleed on the day of op then nothing until yesterday. Really heavy period, flooding with clots, stomach cramps like never before. Is this usual?
It is normal to have heavy periods after Mirena insertion. This is probably due to vascular changes in the endometrial lining. It will probably change in time, maybe after two or three months as the body adapts with Mirena.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
