What Causes Heavy Tonsils And Sore Throat For My 3-year-old Son?
Dear Sir, My son is 3years old he is having throat pain. We went to local doctor,he said my son is having heavy Torncells. Doctor told us to consult a ENT surgon to do operation and remove the torncells. Question: How these Torncells will develop in throat. Is we have to do operation to remove them or we have any other solution to decrease them without operation. Operation means is it minor operation, please advise. ??
Acute tonsillitis is very common sequence of bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract, usually by streptococci bug. In majority of the instance, antibiotic course for 5-7 days with supportive care can resolve the issue best way. If there is recurrent such episodes or not controlled by medications, surgery is of best choice, which is a routine procedure performed best way by expert ENT surgeons (though there are complications as bleeding and others, which should be discussed with the treating doc before head of procedure ).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
