What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After An Endometrial Ablation?

I am 54 yrs. old & just had an endometrial ablation 7 days ago for abnormal, extended, sometimes heavy bleeding. The surgeon found a sizable pollup and removed it. She wants to put me on progesterone for 3 months. I ve heard this can cause breast cancer. Is this true and are there any other possible side effects? Would you recommend this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Progesterone is absolutely fine, your doctor probably thinks the concern regarding the polyp outweighs the probably minor increased risk of breast cancer.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
