What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Elleste Duet?

Hi I was prescribed Elleste Duet 1mg by my doc as had not had a period since Jan 16, and experiencing hot flushes, my doctor did not send me for a blood test at any time. I took my first pill last Thursday and in the afternoon began to spot, I took another on Friday and began to bleed heavier as with a period.I am still bleeding but I have not taken any further pills. I also have been very tired and snappy. I am also on fluexetine tablets and was instructed that I could take both at same time.is this bleeding normal ot do I need to see a doctor.I will not take anymore of the HRT

Hi,

Celeste duet is a preparation of two female hormones & is used for hormone replacement. The bleeding you had with starting your pill seems to be irregular period (characteristic of menopause). You should have continued the pills to control symptoms like hot flashes of menopause. Now as you have already stopped taking & bleeding is still not control. You need to consult your treating gynecologist for relevant internal check up &needful investigations followed by specific medication for your current problem.
