Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Contraceptive Pill?
I took the morning after pill 7 days ago, now I'm having heavy bleeding but it is also watery. I'm not due for my period for 8 more days. Is this my period or am I pregnant and having implantation bleeding or is this just a side effect from the morning after pill
Hi, i do care for your concern. Morning after pill contains progesterone hormone, and is a emergency contraceptive pill. this cause reverse inhibition and makes your uterus non receptive for implantation. The bleeding in your case may due to sudden change in hormone level. however, pregnancy can only be confirmed by urine pregnancy test. i would advise to consult a gyanec, and to know about various contraceptive methods and how to use them effectively. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
