What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding In A 50 Year Old?

I have a question about my cycle. I m 50 yr female and the month of June I did not have a cycle at all. For July I came on the 11th real light for 4 days and then started getting heavy bleeding with alot of clots. Is this something to be concerned about?

As history provided by you,i want to know that does bleeding is PAINLESS OR PAINFUL
if it is painless bleeding then this might be a case of metropathia haemorrhagica
This is common in premenopausal females
Generally this resolves spontaneously
if bleeding doesnt stop or progresses then d&c will the option
