Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Our 10 year old son plays football, and has indicated his heels hurt after practice. We thought at first it was his ankles and have purchased cleats which support his ankles; however the pain of his heel persists. He also has no arch in his foot....should we get him an insert to relieve heel pain?
The symptoms seem to be related to plantar fasciitis. Overstretching this ligament can cause inflammation and heel pain.
The pain may be worse first thing in the morning or after rest. I suggest using Tylenol for the pain. I also suggest to rest and avoid activities for some days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
