What Causes Hematuria And Right Flank Pain After Taking Cipro?
4 weeks ago I passed a 4mm kidney stone which my urine culture was positive so I took cipro 500 mg twice daily x 7 days. Now since Monday I have had hematuria and right flank pain. My CT scan said no other stones. ( I am an RN in emergency center) when I looked at CT scan Monday i could not see the end of the right ureter. I did not have right sided flank pain a mth ago. so I pushed fluids and seems it has got clearer but the flank pain radiating to RLQ is so awful. No fever. I my hx is sle, ra, htn medullary sponge kidney left side. I stopped taking meds that could cause bleeding like methotrexate, diclofenac, aleve. Any ideas? I just don t want to be a patient where I work again!

it may be just you have passed stone and hematuria is due to injury caused by stone. it is not related to taking cipro. drink more water and consult urologist for examination and advise on treatment.
