What Causes Hernia Behind The Navel Along With Persistent Cough?
I had a minimally invasive hysterectomy done last year august. I m very very prone to infection so I went to a specialist to avoid too much wound trauma. I still got a bad infection for weeks after surgery. Now I have a hernia behind my naval which up until 3 days ago gave me no pain whatsoever, I m trying to get over bronchitis so the persistent coughing is really taking its toll on the hernia. Its like a hot sting when I sneeze and coughing is ungodly painful at the hernia site. I m afraid of strangulated hernia. Bowel movements are still ok so far
You do have an issue, and as you wish not to get operated too often due to your high risk of infection, it is best to approach the regimen of cough suppression which can be tried with expectorants like guanfenesin, sips of warm water through the day, anti-histamine medication (e.g. levocetrizine, loratadine), decongestants (e.g. phenylephrine).
Best wishes.
