Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
8 weeks ago I had open heart surgery. Since surgery I have occasional hiccups. They do not last very long but it is more prevalent after surgery. I had my aortic valve replaced with a tissue valve and 1 bipass. I will see my surgeon tomorrow in Houston. Should I mention this to him? Thanks.
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your experience with hiccups following an open heart surgery i will suggest the reason why you are developing hiccups is due to irritation of your diaphragm
In view of this please take tablet largatyl or methoclopramide
Yes off course you can go ahead and discuss your symptoms will your surgeon
I hope this helps Regards
