What Causes High BP After Having Cordilox For Crohn's Disease?
Hi,i have been diagnosed with Conn;s syndrome and am currently on cordilox 180 slow release,i find my bp still shoots up to 220/119 as of recent times not so months ago,is this the right drug because my reading of medical research suggest a different approach?
Conn's disease involves the excess production of a hormone called aldosterone.
Aldosterone can cause increases in the blood pressure because it causes retention of salt and water.
Cordilox is a blood pressure medication that your doctor would be using to help reduce the blood pressure. Because it belongs in the family of drugs called calcium channel blockers , it may also help with aldosterone levels.
Decreasing the blood pressure is one of the main aspects of treatment. The other aspects are: (1) reducing aldosterone levels (2) normal levels of potassium and other electrolytes
If you are not sure about your treatment, you may want to speak to your doctor.
I hope this helps
