Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom s blood pressure is 220/73 58..... She has a bad headache. She was recently diagnosed with stage 3 kidney failure and her thyroid isn t functioning properly. The doctor put her metoprolol twice a day and levothyroxine 50. She feel like when she takes her thyroid meds is raised her blood pressure so she cut her dose in half but when she went back to get the results from her tests the doctor told her that her kidneys were functioning a tiny bit better but her thyroid had gotten worse. So he told her to start taking her total dose again. So for the last two days she has taken the full amount and her blood pressure is hit an all time high. What is the most it can go before seeking emergency help?
Your BP value is very high. It can lead to vital organ damage. If you delay even more, then the condition would be worse and helpless. So go to ER and start taking Rx. High BP can lead to intracranial hemorrhage and stroke with decreased kidney function also.
