General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the pain may be related to his diabetes.

Neuropathy refers to abnormal sensations due to problems with the structure and /or function of the nerves. It can be associated with pain and is one of the complications of diabetes.

There are medications that can be used to help relieve his pain. These medications are directed towards nerve related pain.
His doctor would be able to prescribe one of these for him.

In addition , he needs to control his blood sugars to prevent any further issues.

I hope this helps
