You have not mentioned your age. Blood pressure varies with age. Your blood pressure is slightly high especially diastolic BP. BP is not constant every time and it varies slightly from day to day. Wide fluctuation in BP is clinically significant.
Advice
1. Continue
metoprolol 25 mg as suggested
2. You can add hydrochlorothizide 12.5 mg daily per oral
3. Regular exercise at least 30 minutes for 5 days in a week. The best types of exercises for lowering BP are walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or dancing
4. Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on
saturated fat and cholesterol
5. Consume less salt
6. Avoid
smoking, alcohol, coffee, spicy food and caffeinated beverages
7. Lose extra weight if you are
overweight and keep your
body mass index between 19 and 25. BMI is calculated by formula BMI = Weight in Kilograms / (height in meters x height in meters)
8. Measure your BP regularly and be in touch with your doctor
9. Avoid eating high energy foods such as cakes, chocolates, chips etc.
10. Investigation:
a. Fasting blood lipid profile
