What Causes High BP During 40th Week Of Pregnancy?

Hi, I m 40 weeks pregnant (due today) had high bp so they sent me in for more tests, bloods came back the liver function test specifically alkaline phosphatase levels were really high (doctor said it s the highest she had seen them in a pregnant woman). Should I be worried? Advice given was just to get gp to check them again in a few weeks after baby born.

Dear madam,I understand your concern. In my opinion high BP without any swelling of feet and protein in urine is not worrisome. But it is worth to get the BP check up done regularly.Yes alkaline phosphatase levels are increased in many pregnant woman.Thats a physiological change seen in pregnancy. As this is term and you might be worrying about the delivery so even that might increase your BP.As it is already 40 weeks it might not harm your baby. But if any headache, blurred vision ,upper abdominal pain and decreased urine output contact your doctor immediately.
Sop just relax.And be cool.
have a happy delivery.
