Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 39 yo female. My ALT (SGPT) is 43 and my AST (SGOT) is 33. My random glucose was 113, but I had been fasting for 8 hours before the test. All other labs are normal. I weigh 280 lbs. and do drink alcohol (wine frequently and liquor occasionally in mixed drinks). Do I have a reason to be concerned about the high SGPT & SGOT levels?
As both are borderline, as there are also not mention units too, your BMI is very high, so healthy life style at this moment is good plus stoppage of alcohol and drinking is must as u also not mention about smoking history too (you can go for ECG, BP, lipid profile) with these tests normal you are good and do exercise, yoga, healthy food for long life time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
