What Causes High Blood Pressure While On Carafate And Protonix?

My mom was diagnosed with gastritis on Monday via an egd. a biopsy was done for h pylori. she was started on Carafate and protonix. she feels that her blood pressure has been up ever since she started on these meds. I was just checking for the side effects of Carafate which I do not see hypertension listed. biopsy results not available until Monday.

Hello,

Above drugs less likely to cause elevated blood pressure. Reduce the salt intake. Eat green leafy vegetables.

Do exercise regularly. Avoid alcohol and smoking.

Please check your blood pressure regularly.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
