What Causes High Blood Sugar Level While On Coenzyme Q10 And Alpha-Lipoic Acid?

I am reviewing my supplements. I am taking coenzyme-10, alpha lipoeic acid and milk thistle. I was told they mitigate the effects of lipitor/statin on the liver and help control blood sugar levels. The coQ was suggested after I had a heart attack. All of a sudden, my diabetes is whacky. I do not use diabetes drugs and am allergic to metformin. So i am doing some research. Can you tell me what these three drugs do, or where I can find information.. Pam Wilson. email: YYYY@YYYY

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The high blood sugar level sounds to be immune-mediated effects via HLA subtypes altering the insulin response via tyrosine kinase receptor actions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
