I have taken food at 9:00 PM. Tested for blood sugar at 11.11 and it was 174. Then when I tested at 12.20 its 205. Could you please help me understand why it increased to so much. To note I had a brisk for walk about an hour before 11.11 test. Took the medication about 15 mins after the intake of food. Please help me understand.
Yes. It's possible to have high blood sugar levels at night or early morning at has number of reasons. 1. The meal you took might have increased number of carbohydrates in it and its causing surge in your blood sugar. 2. You are not taking the proper dose of your Sugar treatment. 3. There are some counter regulatory hormones which are high in night time that can also cause rise of your sugar levels.
You need to see your doctor in person to check for all these reasons and get your sugar fixed with measures accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sameen Bin Naeem, General & Family Physician
