What Causes High Blood Sugar Levels In A Child Along With Headaches?
My 12 year old daughter s blood sugar won t leave the 300. She hasn t been doing what shes supposed to for about a year now. Do you think she has diabetic ketoacidosis? She plays alot of sports and is very active. She has had dry mouth and she has been urinating in the bed. She also have been getting headaches. Im worried that she will be in a coma and die but she continues to do what she wants. Will you please tell me what might be wrong with her? Thanks.
Hi there. I understand how concerned you are. It's unlikely she has dka. She will be quite sick if she has it. She needs adequate insulinisation to bring her glucose back to normal. Learn carb counting. It helps a great deal with diet. Check here urine for infection. She is in her puberty phase. The hormones will make sugar control challenging but not impossible. Adequate meds and good lifestyle is the key. Take care.
