What Causes High Body Temperature?

I have always been heat intolerant. I am fifty pounds over weight and just found out I am diabetic. I am following a very low carb diet but it is slow. This doesn t seem to be the main problem though because I have been thinner and still heat intolerant. I have a fit son who is thirty who has this problem also. I have been through menopause. I am so hot and sometimes it is so bad I really feel like I am going crazy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

Sensation of heat can be due to menopausal syndrome or hyperthyroidism.
Hot flushes, irritabilty are commonly observed in menopause due to hormonal levels alterations.

-First I advice you to get your thyroid test done.
-Maintain adequate hydration with cool plain water.
-Healthy diet, yoga and meditation will help in overall well being and destressing the mind.
-Wear loose light clothing.Keep your room well ventilated and cool.
-Avoid alcohol,caffeine,spicy food.
If symptoms donot resolve or other symptoms start like mood swings, joints pain, vaginal dryness, abdominal pain you may visit gynaecologist for further specific management.
Hormone replacement therapy may be considered.

Hope this information helps.
Feel free to ask if any more query.
