I don t smoke or drink. I m about 100 lbs. and don t eat meat, but Chicken every once and awhile. My blood pressure is low. I had my blood drawn about 3-4 months ago and my total cholesterol was 200. Good cholesterol is 79. My Triglyceride level was good but don t remember the exact number. Bad cholesterol was over 50 I believe. My Dr. wasn t too worried but didn t understand the jump to 200. Pass blood test have been great. I started eating Hamburger(red meat) because my Iron had gotten very low because I haven t eaten meat in 20 years. at my Dr. advice. I ate it maybe once or twice a week. I ve since stopped. I take Iron pills now. What could be the reason for the cholesterol number being so high? I m also active everyday.
Nowadays studies have shown that elevation of cholesterol may won't cause many problems. Usually, cholesterol produced by the liver. They are very important to myelination and nerve conduction.
For abnormal cholesterol production by the liver may cause atherosclerosis it stroke or myocardial infarction (MI). So please keep in touch with regular cholesterol check-up and follow with your doctor.
