Creatinine level is an indicator of our kidney function. It raises when kidney function decreases below normal. Here your creatinine is elevated, although marginally. The most important treatment for this is to find out any cause and treat that. Most common causes include uncontrolled, chronic diabetes or hypertension. Many other less common causes are there- like low blood flow to kidney, glomerulo nephritis or some drugs. Kindly discuss with your doctor, so that we can search for any treatable cause and prevent further progression.
Low protein intake can reduce waste load to kidney and reduce creatinine level, but can't cure any underlying cause. Also avoid analgesics like NSAIDs as far as possible, and reduce salt intake.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
