What Causes High Enzyme Levels In A Blood Test Report?
my daughter has had 3 blood test which showed high enzyme levels. The last one was very high. Prior to having the blood work this last time, she had oral surgery was given pain medicine, anti-biotics and told to take Aleve every 4 hours. Plus that week, she had a tetanus shot. Could this have a bearing on her enzyme test So sorry, Didn t realize this was a service to pay for. We ll just follow up with her Doctor. Thank you.
As far as I understand you are talking about liver enzyme levels.
You should know that all painkillers can lead to increased liver enzyme levels. For this reason, I recommend repeated the test after a week and see if the enzyme levels are dropping.
If this does not happen, I recommend performing further tests (including abdominal ultrasound, Hepatitis tests) in order to exclude other possible causes.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
