Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My healthy, five year old daughter fell today from the monkey bars into the mulch at 1:15 pm. A 12 year old friend got me right away. I did not see it happen. She did not cry. She was slow getting up. She says she did not hit her head. Her eyes were fine. I picked her up. She was very quiet at first and just wanted to be held. Said her back hurt. No abrasions swelling. Just think sore from fall. Held her for about half an hour. Voice raspy at first. Then she got up and walked. Talked more. Played a bit more. More cautious than normal. Napped a bit at 4 pm. Woke up to eat and go to ball game. Bath bed normal. Woke up at 4 am with 100 degree fever. Seemed ok otherwise. Drank water.... she has had very very fevers in life. Just seems weird? Should I be concerned?
The fever after a head injury is not normal. It may indicate a brain injury or a probable infection. I suggest to go at the emergency room as soon as possible for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
