Hello,
Green stool in an infant is not a matter of concern. The following are few causes of green stools:
1) Slow digestion, usually because the baby has eaten more than usual
2) Green foods in the diet of the person producing breast milk
3) A cold or stomach bug
4) A
food allergy or intolerance
5) Antibiotics, either in the baby or in the person producing breast milk
6) Treatment for jaundice
7) When complimentary foods are first introduced and breast milk is weaned like at 6 months
8) Sometimes infections of gastrointestinal tract also cause green stools. Then the stool contains pus.
Hence, please don't worry about green stools. Mostly they are normal. Causes of
high fever in an infant are as follows:
1) Upper
respiratory tract infections
2) Acute tonsillitis
3)
Urinary tract infections
4) Ear infections
5) Roseola
6) Mumps
7) Chicken pox
8) Whooping cough
9) Meningitis
10) Encephalitis
12) Septicemia
13) Gastroenteritis
The list may be exhaustive but all are completely treatable with timely medical intervention. As the baby is in hospital you don't need to worry at all. Antibiotics would treat the infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
