What Causes High Fever, Poor Appetite And Bed Wetting In Children?
My 3 yr old grand daughter has been running a high fever of up to 104.0 for 24 hrs, poor appetite, but taking fluids well. She is potty trained but had an episode of bed wetting . She did say it hurt to pee. She was taken to an urgent care center and found ketones in her urine but no blood or white blood cells. They sent her to the local children s hospital for evaluation. She also had vomited while at urgent care. What could be the cause of her symptoms?
Several conditons may cause the appearance of ketones in the urine. For example, detection of protein may be observed due to certain kidney disorders, febrile states, etc. Ketones, in large amounts, are identified in disorders such as Diabetes, eating disorders Anorexia/Starvation, prolonged vomiting, etc...first u have to diagnose the cause of such high grade fever,do malarial parasite, serum serology for dengue IgG and IgM, typhi dot or blood culture for typhoid, complete blood and urine RE,do cold sponges urgently to reduce such a high grade fever, after reports consult your peadriatic consultant for better management regards DR wasif
