What Causes High Iron Levels In The Blood?

I had a hysterectomy about 7 months ago. My blood test after surgery (2 weeks) showed my iron levels to be significantly raised. At my last blood test last week, they have dropped (still in normal range). Is this normal- could it just needs my body adjusting?

Hello,

It is normal to have normal iron levels and is still normal to have a drop after hysterectomy. The body will regulate iron levels after hysterectomy soon. You probably are having an iron rich diet and vitamin C rich diet and probably iron fortified foods which is causing soon recuperation of iron levels.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Regards,
