I am not a diabetic. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. I had my urine tested today because I have been urinating alot lately and I had lots of ketones and sugar in my urine. After a one touch blood sugar was taken, my blood sugar was 298. What does this mean?
dear madam I understand your concern.usually during chemotherapy many groups of cells will be effected in which pancreas are also one.due to chemo there might be some damage to your pancreas.this is the reson for your increased blood sugars .in some cases there will be recovery of pancreas after chemo but it can not be predicted exactly. my suggestion is to start using insulin, because it will help you in quick recovery of your body which got affected due to chemo. I suggest to consult your oncologist and discuss this issue regards Dr Vamsi krishna Diabetologist
