What Causes High Levels Of Calcium In Blood?

Hi, Thank you for your time I have been taking 840 mg sodibic capsules three times daily for over three years now and I have recently had blood tests which revealed very high levels of calciuym in my blood. I have had two large kidney stones for over two years and they are increasing each time I have an ultrasound. My doctor says that sodibic is not the problem. I would appreciate your response. Regards, Keith.

Hi,

* The high levels of calcium in the blood do indicate parathyroid hormone imbalance most likely as that will hamper the calcium homeostasis at intestine and kidney levels.

* It is the excess of blood calcium, which is responsible for renal stones because of over load of calcium for the excretion in urine, which gets accumulated due to saturation mechanics.

However, a detailed provision of lab data, radiology findings will be necessary to discuss in this regards.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
