What Causes High Pulses In Spite Of Being On Blood Pressure Medicine?

I started a new blood pressure medicine and today I have been concerned. I have had shakes in my body, I have had pulses between 95 & 98 all day and I feel like there is weight in my left shoulder.
I notified my cardiologist first thing this morning and still have not heard back.
I am a diabetic and have had a heart cath that doesn't show any evidence of ischemia.
Are these symptoms something that may be related to starting labetalol?

Thanks for using healthcaremagic.I understand your concern.
According to me,most common blood pressure medications have tachycardia(Increased heart rate) as a common side effect but drug labetalol doesn't increase the heart rate rather controls it.However with initial doses, patients may experience symptoms like dizziness, body weakness etc. Also in my opinion, your pulse rate is not high to be concerned(above 100 beats/min is generally considered tachycardia).Seek medical care if you feel uncomfortable frequently.Hope i have answered your query. If any further questions, happy to answer you.Take care.
