What Causes Higher Csf Protein While Suffering From Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension?

I have had Idiopathic Intracranial hypertension for the last 7 or so years, and I currently have a “functional” shunt. After a recent lumber puncture my neurologist contacted me to let me know that the csf protein count was quite high at 96, and has repeatedly said that he is concerned about it, however he has not been able to tell me what this means, or might mean. Going through my old LP labs the csf protein has always been between 20 and 30. The reason for the LP was due to a new set of headaches and other neurological symptoms including dizziness, visual symptoms, and falling. Why would the high protein count be a concern? And would it have anything to do with the IIH? Could it be causing the symptoms that I am having?
