What Causes Higher Pulse Rate?

hi i have been to the doctors as have not been feeling well, the doc said i had a fast pulse rate so was sent for an ecg and then asked to return today for blood and urine tests. my urine showed that there was protein in it. have got to wait now for results of the tests is there a link between the two? cant stop worring about what it could be. thanks

Hello...
A fast pulse rate can have many causes. To name a few common ones: anxiety , emotional stress, panic attacks , exercise, fever.
You mentioned that you were not feeling well. Based on the tests you were advised it seems that the doctor was suspecting an infection. Were you down with fever since that could elevate the heart as i have mentioned.
Fever can also cause the appearance of protein in the urine, which would disappear once the fever settles.
In my opinion fever seems to be the most probable cause for you having both a fast heart rate and protein in the urine.
Please do not get worked up. I think you will be fine.
