What Causes Hip Pain Radiating To The Thigh With Burning Sensation?

I fell very hard on my basement stairs,3 years ago. It left a 6 inch dent across my left buttock. I have pain in my left hip that radiates down into my thigh. It does not bother me when I walk or run. Only when I sit. I saw an orthopaedic doctor about a year after it happened. He said ot was bursitis and gave me a cortisone shot. That helped for abot 3 to 4 months. I jave a burning sensation in the side of my thigh when I stretch I am in need of relief.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to sciatica pain.

I suggest to do an xray of the colon for further evaluation.

Meanwhile,I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

If you continue to have pain, you should consult your doctor for prescription painkillers such as Gabapentin.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
