What Causes Hives And Rashes All Over Body After Using Imiquimod?

Hi, I am having a severe allergic reaction to imiquimod. 2 weeks into treatment, i began developing hives and rashes all over my body multiple times a day. was prescribed an antihistamine and now develop 5-7 blotchy rashes all over my body. It has been weeks since I stopped imiquimod. Is this permanent? Should i seek medical attention?

Imiquimod is known to cause skin reactions in certain individuals. Sometimes stopping the drug may cause reversal of changes, but there is a small chance of some of the skin color changes becoming permanent.
