What Causes Hives On Body While On Cymbalta?

I have been taking Cymbalta for osteoarthritis, swelling, chronic pain, etc... It is causing terrible hives/rash however it works really good for all of my symptoms. I am looking for a good alternative without skin rash/hives side affects. I have had multiple knee surgeries, rt knee replacement, rt shoulder repair, shingles multiple times even after vaccine, Rocky Mtn spotted fever, staff infection on my skin rashes, h pylori. I still work and I am an active 45 year old female (complete hysterectomy). I need something to reduce pain & swelling, help with skin and stress & anxiety. (No real depression other than the pain & diminished quality of life due to symptoms.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The presence of the skin rash/hives indicates that you are likely allergic to the cymbalta.

There are other antidepressants that are used to treat chronic pain or nerve related pain eg venlafaxine, amitriptyline, nortriptyline

It is possible that one of these may help you.

I hope this helps
