What Causes Hoarse Voice While On Thyroid Medication?
I have been taking thyroid medicine for about 2 years. I am a smoker. approx. 1 pack a day. However, my throat has become hoarse and at times, I can hardly be heard or speak clearly. I wake up in the mornings and am very hoarse as well. I am a professional and need to speak on occasion at functions. What causes continual hoarseness? This has been going on for about a year.

I really appreciate your concern, first thing you need to do is to stop the smoking first, even if the voice quality remains as it is then you have out your self on voice rest for some time, and better to see the ENT surgeon also, it may be allergic condition also hope this information helps.
