Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Had POEM procedure in August ‘17. Much better but the ‘sometime hoarseness’ has gotten so bad that I start with a voice and it goes in and out, with hoarseness and then nothing. Still some esophageal spasms. FYI had been diagnosed (prior to diagnosis of achalasia) with Barrett’s esophagus. But told three yrs ago that it was gone( after move to diff state) Should I be worried that this challenge is related to either condition or other options I’d rather not think about?!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per my clinical experience, the hoarseness of voice is due to nerve problem with superior laryngeal branch of vagus nerve which can be a sequence of procedure or others.
Have to discuss the issue with consultant in details for further proceeding.
Thanks.
