What Causes Horrible Red Rash Under Knees In A Kid?
Hi! My almost 2 year old daughter has a horrible red rash under both of her knees. I initially thought it s eczema and applied many creams that supposed to help with this kind of rash. However, it is not going away. actually getting worse. It s very itchy and my daughter scratches it all the time to the point that it s bleeding. My friend saw it today and told me that her daughter had a similar rash and it was a fungus. Is it possible? Can I use anything over the counter to see if it works before I take her to the doctor? (the same friend told me that local pharmacist recommended trying cream for athlete s foot.Is it safe?) Thank you in advance!!!!!
I have gone through your query and it seems to be a case of eczematous rash, I don’t think it is a fungal infection.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with the frequent and regular application of a moisturizing cream on the entire body 3/4 times in a day. All give her antihistaminic syrup.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
