What Causes Hot And Cold Flashes Along With Dry Mouth And Appetite Loss?

I am 62, male, and in reasonably good health. Alcohol consumption has become problematic and needs to be addressed, ditto depression. This week a suffered what seems to be an acute anxiety episode. Started on Lorazepam yesterday p.m. and feel much better -- finally slept well last night. Blood samples taken yesterday have all come back normal for serum ALT, creatinine, THS, electrolytes, etc. Persistent symptoms include: rapid hot and cold flashes, large (unprecedented) spikes in BP, dry mouth, and progressive appetite loss over the past week or so. My understanding that these could all be anxiety-driven, but is there something else I should be asking about?

Hello,

The symptoms are more likely suggestive of alcohol dependency. Consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
