Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 52 yo woman. I am experiencing sudden hot flashes and then extreme chills. I am very active (run and work out daily). I had experienced similar flashes years ago when I had chronic severe back pain which has since resolved. I had a new Mirena implanted 1 month ago because I did not test as menopausal, and I had fear of pregnancy (as remote a chance as that is) and discomfort with periods. Could these flashes just be age related? If so, can I use a patch to control them if I am also using Mirena?
Thanks for trusting healthcare magic Hot flushes at your age are related to what we call pre-menopausal syndrome. I don't think you should worry much because it should be menopause coming. Thanks
