What Causes Hot Flashes And Night Sweats After An Appendectomy?
I am a 51 yr old woman and just had appendectomy. I went through mean pause and stopped my periods in Oct. 2016. I have been having the worst hot flashes and night sweats and it s ruining my life. I ve been to several Drs and have had many blood tests. They rule out thyroid but I think it s that or maybe my pan crease. My gallbladder is fine but just had my appendix out. I am not on any medications at the moment. Trying to do the healthy way. I also have fibromyalgia and am really feeling sore down and depressed. I still work 2 jobs 7 days a week. But mostly want to be in bed. Help!!!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
There are many other causes for your symptoms like chronic infection, cancer, antidepressants, pain medicine, low blood sugar in diabetics, hyperthyroidism, ontological causes....all of these need to be investigated.
For you, it seems to be chronic pain due to myalgis.... leading to depression. Consult your nurophysician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
