Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 23 and have had hot flashes since I was 18. I am also getting nose bleeds now with my hot flashes. What is causing this? I did have an overactive thyroid for years and it progressed into graves a year ago. The time it took to get tests done to be treated for that, everything disappeared. My thyroid levels were fine and now I am getting hot flashes so frequently and also the nose bleeds.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hot flashes and nose bleeds . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like altered thermal stability, which is maintained by the hypothalamus , estrogen levels can affect some functions of the hypothalamus , during menopause, the ovaries produce less estrogen , peripheral neuropathy and vitamin B12 deficiency . Sinusitis or viral infection can also cause such symptoms. I would suggest you to consult endocrinologist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test along with other test to detect the level of hormone . Doctor may give hormone therapy . For now apply warm compresses on face , drink plenty of water and take proper rest .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
